At Precision 4x4 ("we", "us", "our"), accessible from precision4x4.co.nz, the privacy of our visitors and customers is a top priority. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of personal information we collect and how we use, store, and protect it in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

We may collect personal information from you when you visit our website, register an account, place an order, or contact us. This may include:

  • Personal Identification: Name, email address, phone number, and billing/shipping address.

  • Vehicle Information: Make, model, and year of your 4x4 (to ensure parts/services compatibility).

  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and browsing behavior on our site.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To process and fulfill your orders or service requests.

  • To communicate with you regarding updates, promotions, and customer support.

  • To improve our website functionality, products, and services.

  • To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers (such as payment processors and shipping couriers) strictly for the purpose of operating our business and fulfilling your orders.

4. Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your Precision 4x4 account at any time from the mobile app: Account > Profile > Delete account. You will be asked for your password to confirm.

When you delete your account, the following personal information is permanently removed from our systems:

- Your name, email address, phone number and company
- Your saved delivery and billing addresses
- Your saved payment methods (also detached from Stripe, our payment processor)
- Photos you uploaded for your vehicles
- Your shopping cart and watchlist
- Your sign-in credentials and any active sessions on your devices
- Any pending or future workshop bookings (these are cancelled)

The following information is retained as a legitimate business record under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and our tax obligations under the Inland Revenue Department's record-keeping requirements:

- Past invoices and order records, including the name, address and email captured at the time of each purchase. We are required to keep these for at least seven years for GST and income tax purposes.
- Workshop service records for vehicles we have worked on, including the vehicle's make, model, year, registration and VIN; the work performed; parts fitted; quoted and final costs; and the technician who completed the work. These records are retained so we can honour warranties, support future service work, and meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
- Past completed or in-progress bookings linked to those service records.

Where these retained records reference your account, the link is anonymised: your name appears as "Deleted User" and your contact details are removed. The records themselves are kept so the workshop history of each vehicle remains intact.

If you would like a copy of any information we hold about you before deleting your account, or you have questions about this process, please contact us at [email protected] before initiating deletion.

Note: deleting your account does not delete your Sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook authorisation on those providers' systems. To remove our app from your provider's authorised-apps list, please use that provider's own account settings (for example, Settings > Apple ID > Sign in with Apple on iOS).

5. Cookies

Our website uses "cookies" to enhance your browsing experience, analyze site traffic, and personalize content. You can choose to disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how certain features of our website function.

6. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you'd like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us.
